Joshua McBride (b. 2003, Fort Lauderdale, Florida) is a contemporary photographic artist based in Orlando, Florida. His work brings form to and emphasizes the importance of depictions, in a time where abstract ideals and overlooked developments intertwine and hide within one another, to express that human values are not infallible, resolute matter-of-facts, but informed, partisan and intentional progressions that are shifted by people, legislation, ideology and history. 

Raised in South Florida, McBride’s early exposure to the arts consisted solely of new-media such as music sharing platforms, online video games, and memetic communities: giving him a uniquely current frame of reference on how one can combine the traditional role of the arts with the rapidity and fluidness of contemporary processes.

McBride completed his Bachelor’s of Fine Arts at the University of Central Florida, with a specialization in photography a minor in art history, and a certification in Business Operations in Creative Industries.

He has served as the Photographic Chairman for the Fashion Society UCF, Secretary for the school’s official Photography Guild, and is a currently a professional art framer and handler.

His work has been featured in promotional images for student editorials by the aforementioned Fashion Society, Strike Magazine, and has also appeared in multiple group exhibitions across Orlando.
