Joshua McBride (b. 2003, Fort Lauderdale, Florida) is a photographic artist based in Orlando, Florida. His work investigates the forces behind cultural and community grand narratives, examining the patterns, rituals, and contradictions that shape them. He treats these narratives not as infallible or matters of happenstance, but as informed, partisan, and intentional progressions formed by people, legislation, ideology, and history. Through this, his work creates a dialogue that asks viewers not only to recognize his experiences but to reconsider how these forces are shaping their own.

Raised in South Florida, McBride's first exposure to the arts came through new media, such as online music platforms, video games, and memetic image-sharing communities. These early experiences shaped his perspective on the relationship between art and culture, giving him a unique frame of reference for considering how the traditional role of the arts can be combined with the immediacy of contemporary processes.

McBride earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Central Florida, studying photography and art history and receiving a certificate in the Business of Hip-Hop and Creative Industries. During his undergraduate years, he served as Photography Chair for the UCF Fashion Society and as secretary of his university's official photography guild. His work has been featured on the cover of the student zine Rampage!, in promotional flyers for local events, and in three group exhibitions in Orlando. He currently works as an art framer at Let Us Frame It while continuing his photographic practice.
